MINUTES OF MEETING

HELD JUNE 1, 2011

 

LOCATION: Police Station- Training Room

Meeting Called to Order at 7:05 PM

Board of Directors meeting to follow public forum.

PUBLIC FORUM: No one present to speak at forum.

 

ATTENDEES: Jack Cratty, Jim Urban, Beverly Goldberg, Linda Walewski, Linn Scheck, Jason Santi, Bill Twiss, Toni Paternoster, Zenaida Puerta, & Jessie Cratty.

NOT PRESENT / EXCUSED: Nikita Aleksjuka, Erin Holroyd, Kent Wahlberg, Officer Bob Ramos, Cynthia Russell, Martin Barrett, Susan Monroe & Bob Nutall.

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Motion to accept by Linda Walewski and seconded by Jim Urban.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Checking Balance: $4,484.74.  Neighborhood watch = $595.08; misc expenditures for stamps, labels & etc = $51.76.  Motion to accept by Zenaida Puerta and seconded by Linn Scheck.

 

STANDING COMMITTEES:

NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH: Crime Watch signs have been put up in various areas.

WEBSITE: Still very active. Many hits from foreign countries continue.

MEMBERSHIP:

CORRESPONDENCE & PUBLICITY: Various articles have been submitted.

 

RECENT EVENTS:

Memorial Day Parade: Truck provided by Zenaida; McGruff walked along side it. Candy was given out although we ran out of it. Note: buy more candy for next year.

 

Stratford Main Street Festival: Saturday June 4th from 10:00a.m. to 4:00pm.  $100 gift card from Target was raffled off.  Winning entry was drawn by McGruff. The winner was Stacy Barnaby from Stratford. Crime Watch labels were given out to children.  Various bands played, Milford Bank (the sponsor) gave out balloons, and different booths were present with food, crafts and jewelry.  It appeared to be very successful.

 

National Night Out: August 7th. Badges have been ordered… probably around 500.  At the next meeting we will go into further detail about what we will attempt to have setup, groups that might be available, games, etc.  The Al Torgan award is to be given out also.

 

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

 

Scholarships: Were awarded to one girl at Stratford High and another girl at Bunnell High.  Both girls were reviewed by a guidance counselor and met the criteria we were seeking.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Publicity: Any articles were submitted.

Announcements: Meeting date and time were in papers.

 

Meeting Adjourned at 8:00pm
